It’s been a little over a year now since the Smith Family lost their youngest member. River passed away in June of 2019 in a drowning accident. The family has been sharing their story and bringing awareness to pool safety every since. Granger Smith and his wife Amber decided that after River passed, they couldn’t live in the house they were currently living in. So, over the last year and a half, they have been planning the build of their new home. During the first stages of the building process, to honor their son’s life, they buried one of his toys under the ground where the foundation of the home was laid. They also buried a bible to so that they felt God & River in their home, always.

It’s foundation day. Today they pour the slab for our new home. The next step in this journey moving forward and carrying it all. Last night we buried a bible and a lightning mcqueen. We held hands and prayed over our new home. Prayed for our hearts, London prayed for the construction workers building it, prayed for safety, healing, new memories, to always feel River close and we told God that our house would be built on His word. Thank you to many of you for the idea to do this at foundation pour! It took me a long time to find Christ. To truly accept his grace and forgiveness in my life. I married a man of integrity and faith and he leads us so strongly. I love that London and Linc already know our King. They already have Him in their hearts. I pray we can continue to raise them up always loving God and seeking Him above all else. Always knowing that even though we will make mistakes, we will face hard things, He is a God of forgiveness, mercy, and love and He is always there, right there with them. And we know Riv is always right here too ❤️ #smithfarmhouse #builtontheword 🙏🏼 Matthew 7:24-26
