How you can help Apalachee this weekend

We know nothing can take away the hurt and the pain our Apalachee family is feeling right now, but as a community we can rally together to make sure our friends in Barrow County have all the love and support we can give. There a few events going on this weekend that you can be at to show your support.

If it’s a slow day at work for you, Adventure Bags needs your help TODAY! You are invited to help pack comfort bags for the students at Apalachee High School. These bags will include stuffed animals, blankets, activity books, stress balls, and more. The bags will be given to students to help them cope with the anxiety and stress they will feel when they return to school next week.

There are also three big events going on Sunday!

Battle for Barrow, a charity wrestling super show to benefit Apalachee High and the families affected by Wednesday’s tragedy is happening Sunday and it starts at 3:00pm. All profits and proceeds raised Nerd U Championship Wrestling and all vendors at the event will go to those affected.

The Ride for Apalachee will also happen Sunday, and registration is at 10:00am at Hero’s Pizza and Pub in Winder starting at 10:00am. It is $20 dollars for a single rider + $10 per passenger, with all of the money raised going straight to Apalachee High School.

Adam and Haley will be at the registration table for that event.

Adam and Haley will also be at the Benefit Car Show, which is being put on later that same afternoon in Bethlehem. This is from 2p-6p at 649 Carl-Bethlehem Road in Bethlehem. All of the money raised will go straight to Apalachee.

If you are coming out to the ride or the car show, Adam and Haley would love if you brought your ‘Cards for Chee’. They are collecting letters of encouragement for the students and staff at Apalachee High School. They plan to drop the letters off when school starts back. They will have a collection box at both events.
