We all know Jelly Roll is a fan of second chances, and that is exactly what he is doing when it comes to his food truck. This summer, Jelly Roll will celebrate the one-year anniversary of opening his Rolling With Jelly food truck, that he started with his long time friend Jerry Gift Jr.

Jelly and Jerry, who goes by Jerry G, grew up in the same neighborhood, and have “been in and out of jail, been through it all together,” Jelly told Audacy at the CMA Awards in November. So when Jerry suggested opening a food truck, he was all in.

“Of course, we did it, and our mission statement was, we only hire second-chance guys,” Jelly says. “Every other place in the world is like, ‘If you got a felony, you can’t work here.’ We’re only hiring felons. They run the food truck and come out on tour with us some nights.”
