The state funeral of former president Jimmy Carter continues this week.
Over the weekend, Carter’s motorcade started in his hometown of Plains, Georgia. Secret service agents who protected Carter served as his pallbearers.
Carter will lie in repose at the Carter Presidential Center through Tuesday. Mourners will be able to pay respects to Carter around the clock.
On Tuesday, Carter will be transported to Washington D.C., where he will lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda until his funeral on Thursday morning at the Washington National Cathedral.
A private hometown funeral for Carter will be held later that day back in Plains, Georgia.
