Longtime Game Show Host Chuck Woolery Dies at 83

Chuck Woolery, the original host of Wheel of Fortune and Love Connection, has died at the age of 83.

Woolery died at his home in Texas with his wife present. The celebrity’s friend and Blunt Force Truth co-host, Mark Young confirmed the sad news.

“It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother,” he wrote on X.

Mark also spoke to TMZ providing additional details.

He was with Chuck at his home in Texas when Chuck started feeling under the weather. His symptoms worsened, and he was “having trouble breathing.” 911 was called, but Woolery did not make it.

Chuck was a legend in the game show world. In 1975 he became the first host of Wheel of Fortune. He hosted the show until 1981 and left due to a salary dispute. Pat Sajak then took over the job. He went on to host Love Connection, Scrabble, and a revival of The Dating Game.

Chuck is survived by his wife Kim, and his children, Katherine, Melissa, Michael, and Sean.
