Tiger Woods biopic is in the works

Tiger Woods' journey to becoming a golf legend is getting the biopic treatment.

Amazon MGM Studios has obtained the film rights to the book “The Tiger Slam” by Kevin Cook.

Barack and Michelle Obama’s company, Higher Ground, is in talks to produce it along with Winkler Films.

Taking inspiration from the book, the film is expected to focus on his triumph of winning four consecutive major championships, known as the “Tiger Slam.” The book includes accounts from Wood’s caddie, his coach, opponents, and supporters.

After turning pro at age 20 in 1996, Tiger Woods became one of the most recognizable golfers of all time. He has 15 major championship wins including 82 PGA Tour victories.

Scandal and injury have dominated the narrative of Tiger’s later years. He just underwent Achilles surgery but all the drama he went through reportedly won’t be in the film.

No release date or timeline for the Woods biopic was released.
