Dylan Marlowe

Dylan Marlowe is a Georgia-born country singer/songwriter with an organic, trad-country sound rooted in Southern rock. He went mainstream in 2020 after his countrified rendition of Olivia Rodrigo's "Driver's License" went viral, and he capitalized on that success with a string of well-received originals, including the 2022 heartache ballad "Why'd We Break Up Again." The following year, he released his major-label debut EP, Dirt Road When I Die, which featured the hit single "Record High." He landed another hit later that year with the Dylan Scott collaboration "Boys Back Home," a song he later included on his 2024 debut album, Mid-Twenties Crisis.

Born and raised in Statesboro, Marlowe spent his formative years soaking in the sounds of hard-rocking neo-traditionalists like Kenny Chesney and Eric Church. Relocating to Nashville just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he focused on songcraft and networking. As a lark, Marlowe recorded a souped-up country version of the Olivia Rodrigo pop hit "Driver's License," which garnered millions of online streams. Looking to avoid the fleeting fame of social media success, he pivoted to releasing his own work. 2021's "All About It" and "I'll Keep the Country" showed an artist with a raw, aching delivery and knack for pairing relatable lyrics with earworm melodies. "When I Look Back" and "Why'd We Break Up Again" appeared the following year, as did "Last Night Lonely," a song he penned for Joe Pardi, which reached number one on Billboard's Country Airplay chart.

Marlowe inked a deal with Sony Music Nashville in early 2023 and issued the single "Record High," which appeared on his debut EP, Dirt Road When I Die. That October, Marlowe teamed up with fellow songwriter Dylan Scott on "Boys Back Home," a rousing weekend anthem that found its way into the Top 40 of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. He followed it in early 2024 with the slightly more subdued "You Did It." While touring with Dan + Shay, Marlowe continued to release singles like "Devil On My Shoulder" in advance of his debut full-length. Mid-Twenties Crisis was released that September and featured a guest spot from Riley Green. ~ James Christopher Monger
